I’m Philip, a professional Filmmaker, Editor & Photographer
I grew up in Rome, Italy where I first got interested in photography and moving images in the late 80s. Relocated to San Francisco in 1994 to advance my film studies, obtaining a degree from City College and later a BA from the Academy of Art University in SF.
My main focus was on documentaries and soon got involved with LAFCO, the Los Angeles Filmmakers Coop, an inspiring collective of ground breaking visual artists. While evolving my skills in the new realm of digital cinematography and editing I worked on various other productions including narrative, corporate and event.
My main interest is still in the documentary genre and I aspire at working on projects that promote cultural, social and environmental change.
I’m also a still photographer and proud member of the official Burning Man Documentation Team.
20+ Years of experience in the field
I started working as a freelance cameraman & editor right after graduating from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco in 2001 with a Motion Pictures & TV degree.
I gained experience on a wide variety of projects including documentaries, fiction, music videos and events and collaborated with several award winning filmmakers and production companies.
Following my passion for travel I also took the opportunity to shoot documentary projects in Central and South America, India and East Africa and work on other award winning documentaries such as ‘Last Fast Ride’, directed by Lilly Scourtis-Ayers, ‘Doctor by Heart’ directed by Ranu Sinha and ‘The Light of Love’, directed by Dean Das & Robyne Latham.
